What better place for young little minds who are full of energy and eager to soak up as much information as possible than a notebook for them to collect their new learning and thoughts? What is it about notebooks that makes writing and learning fun? I wanted to experience the magical feeling that notebooks create with my students–hence, the literacy notebook was born in my classroom! The literacy notebook consists of four different sections: reading, writing, poems/songs, and vocabulary that are marked with colored tabs. Literacy notebooks have made a world of change in my classroom. Students are confident in reading text and love looking back at the work they've done.
