| Summary: | The IberoMahgrebian region, containing Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, is subject to the occurrence of large earthquakes. A particular case was the Lisbon earthquake of 1755 which caused the destruction of Lisbon, and large damage in other parts of Portugal, Spain and Morocco and it generated a large tsunami. Large earthquakes have occurred also in other parts of the Iberian Peninsula, Morocco and Algeria. It is then reasonable to consider the possibility of establishing Earthquake Early Warning System for this area. |
