Treatment of Femoral Neck Fractures Using Compression Hip Screws
We surgically treated 60 cases of femoral neck fractures with compression hip screws (CHS). Of these 60 cases, 57 had extracapsular fractures, 43 of which were stable fractures and 14 unstable fractures. Three cases had intracapsular fractures. Summary: | We surgically treated 60 cases of femoral neck fractures with compression hip screws (CHS). Of these 60 cases, 57 had extracapsular fractures, 43 of which were stable fractures and 14 unstable fractures. Three cases had intracapsular fractures. We investigated the 60 cases using X-rays before and after CHS treatment. We found 5 coxa vara and 3 cases with bone cut out of lag screws within unstable extracapsular and intracapsular fractures. The lag screw had moved out of the center and caused a shortage with in the femoral head bone. |
