Combat and tactical land vehicles of all types-wheeled, tracked, and others-are included in this series. The purpose of this Handbook is to provide assistance to designers of military automotive equipment and technical guidance to military and civilian personnel who are responsible for preparing specifications for this equipment, or who are responsible for ensuring their fulfillment. The suspension system, one of the major functional elements of the automotive assembly, is the subject of this Handbook. Its treatment is divided into three major categories: Part One, Fundamental Discussions, part Two, Land Locomotion, and Part Three, Suspension Systems, Components, and Design Data.
