Katrin Tiidenberg

Tiidenberg at Tallinn University in 2018 Katrin Tiidenberg (born 26 July 1980) is an Estonian sociologist and internet researcher who is Professor of Participatory Culture at the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, Tallinn University. Her research examines how people create meaning and relationships through everyday social media practices, including networked visuality and platformed intimacy.

Tiidenberg is the author of several books for academic and general audiences, including ''Selfies: Why We Love (and Hate) Them'' (Emerald, 2018), ''Sex and Social Media'' (with Emily van der Nagel; Emerald, 2020), and ''Tumblr'' (with Natalie Ann Hendry and Crystal Abidin; Polity, 2021).
