Marianne Hirsch

Marianne Hirsch (born September 23, 1949) is the William Peterfield Trent Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University and Professor in the Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Her scholarship has focused on memory studies, feminist theory, and transgenerational trauma, especially after the Holocaust. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was formerly president of the Modern Language Association. Provided by Wikipedia
